This is a 2-page document in Word; the KEY is included for a total of 4 pages. This assignment directly correlates with the Blood Cells Open Notes sold under separate cover in this store. There are lots of color pictures of the blood cells so the student can begin to learn the differences between granulocytes, agranulocytes and erythrocytes. The questions go IN ORDER of the Blood Cells Open Notes so there are no tricks or surprises, and no searching a 2-page document for the answers. This makes for a relatively easy introductory assignment - the more challenging stuff can come later once the students have attained some knowledge of the different types of blood cells.
This assignment is in an electronic format to be completed on a laptop or computer and submitted to a drop box such as Black Board, Schoology or School Space. However, a paper copy can be created with little to no modification of the original document - just hit print. I love Word documents - you can make them your own!
When I create an electronic document, I type two red asterisks at the point where I need information from the student such as name, date, answer to a question, etc. The student places his/her cursor between the two red asterisks and begins typing. This way, the student can see that they've answered the question, and I can easily grade the assignment electronically (I'm always looking for the 'red' answers!). For a paper copy, the student can also use the asterisks as the place to write their answers. There's usually plenty of room to do this:)
