This EDITABLE collection includes my original worksheets used along with the separately purchased novel, the audio-version of the novel and the movie in DVD format. There is a ton of information available on-line about the author and the film, which I've used as well, but cannot include here. My method of presenting the novel and film using these worksheets and formats is described for you on the cover page. My high school age reluctant readers were usually pretty responsive to this structure, once they got used to it. I kept my classes moving through the information at a steady pace, and working through the assignments together as a class, with no homework assigned. This unit is built using the novel, "Blood Diamonds", the Audible.com audio-book and the 2006 film version based on the novel. It incorporates the study of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the Rule of Law in reference to the plight of Child Soldiers. This was one of my student's most engaging stories. Please feel free to modify my work to fit your needs, however, please do not share or sell my ideas. Questions, Comments and Ratings are welcome!
