This is a large bundle that has all the material in the Blood and Blood Components Bundle and The Circulatory System Bundle. I am offering this bundle at a discounted price compared to buying both bundles separately.
There are two PowerPoint Presentations in this bundle. One is on Blood and the Components of blood and the other is on the Cardiovascular System. I have included some links to websites which contain pictures and illustrations which can be used as a supplement to the presentation. I do have some visual aids in this presentation. I also include in my notes of those slides which have links to images how I use them in my lecture in case you would like to add those yourself. Many slides have notes for instructor on my thoughts on discussion topics for that slide. There is also a link to a Youtube videos which tells the story of a professional basketball player who has a son with Sickle Cell Disease and their attempt to cure him. Video discusses the controversial topic of stem cell procedures. There is also a link to a video called Sports Science where they determine how long it takes an individual to bleed out due to a cut to a jugular vein. The video shows this actually happening to a hockey player during a game in the 1980's. While going over cardiac output, I show a video from Secretariat running the Belmont Stakes. I also have included a link that is an audio to let students hear normal heart sounds and compare them different types of murmurs. Links to videos of heart catheter, a valve replacment and a by-pass surgery. Slides have animation which moves with click of mouse.
Another link is to an online lab for blood typing. I use a simulated blood typing lab for the class instead of the online version which is called "Ward's Simulated Blood Typing". It comes with lab questions that corresponds to the results of the students lab. All slides have animations. There is also a lab on Vital signs in this product where students obtain a pulse, respirations and blood pressure of their classmates. This is also a free product in my store.
Also included in this bundle is guided notes for the Human Anatomy and Physiology Presentation on Blood and Blood Components as well as notes that correspond with the Circulatory System Presenation. I have also included the lesson plans, and six total quizzes. Two of the quizzes are on a portion of the presentation. I use one of those quizzes as a make-up quiz for students who missed class the day of the quiz. Two quizzes cover the entire presentation on Blood and Blood Components. I use the larger quizzes and give a summative exam for this presentation combined with the circulatory system. I have added one on Blood and Blood Components with 26 multiple choice items and two open response questions. The second exam includes 30 multiple choice items and an open response item on the Circulatory System.
The third exam is a summative exam and consist of 56 multiple choice items and two open response items. The key and rubric to the quizzes and exams are included.
My teaching time is based on a 4x4 schedule and I have included the lesson plans in the product. My students use the Anatomy Coloring Book by Kapit and Elson for illustrations of the anatomy for each chapter. I am listing this for Higher Education as well due to students who I have had in the past who were dual enrolled at local community colleges and stated that we covered the same material in their classes.
