This is a take-home essay test for use after reading "Blood on the River: James Town 1607" by Elisa Carbone. Some of the questions include having students analyze the relationship between Native Americans and English settlers, explaining the main character's growth throughout the novel, and analyzing John Smith’s leadership skills. It includes a detailed rubric that will benefit both students and teachers.
This test can easily be adapted to be used as an in-class test or assignment, and the rubric can be adjusted to suit the needs of your students.
