With the advent of the Next Generation Science Standards, we are seeing an emphasis on inquiry-based learning in science. The "what" of teaching is of course, contained in the standards, but we can look at the 3 domains of learning objectives and see that not only must we teach the "cognitive" domain (Bloom) but must not forget about the "affective" and "psychomotor" domains as established by Krathwohl and Harrow respectively. This handy sheet will help you to develop lessons that include all three categories of objectives to give students a well-rounded curriculum. Just fill-in the blanks. If it seems that Bloom's taxonomy is a little different, that's because it was revised a bit in 2001. An example of a lesson in development is the "Traditional Animal Dissection." Even though you may not agree with dissection, it gives you an idea of how to fill-out the sheet. Note that some objectives are not met.
