Description

Blooming Beginning Sounds is a one-time prep literacy center for practicing letters, sounds, and isolating the beginning sounds of words. Students will identify the beginning sound of the picture shown on the flower and match it to the correct letter shown on a flower pot to grow their garden. This beginning sounds center activity will help your students practice identifying beginning sounds of words, identifying their alphabet letters, and also enhancing their vocabulary retrieval of each clipart picture shown. Your students will love this activity and it works well as a whole group activity, a small group activity, a partner activity, or an independent center. To extend this activity, we have also included word cards for students who are ready to match whole words to the pictures shown on each flower. Three individual assessments are also included in this activity pack! Enjoy!

This literacy center is aligned with Common Core standards: RF.K.1.d and RF.K.3.a.

We hope your students love this beginning sound center as much as ours do! Remember, you can earn TpT credits by leaving a rating and feedback on each purchase.
