This pack contains Bloom's Taxonomy activities about Australian Plants. It essentially is a primary level biology (botany) framework, but specifically targeting the plants in Australia. The activities involve tasks about native plants, structure and life cycle of Australian plants, classifying and sorting plant reproduction styles.
Using Blooms Taxonomy Framework, this resource will enable you to use it as a tool for higher order thinking and is to be used to build upon your unit that you have taught in class. Staring with basic skills such as knowledge and understanding, students will be challenged to apply facts that they learnt and apply it in creative ways.
For example, a Create Task asks students to construct a medicinal book of Australian plants. Here, students are free to organise the information in anyway the desire and produce a product that also provides a very practical tool for everyday life.
It is also great to be used as an independent task or a homework extension for students that need an extra challenge. The framework allows you to date when they have completed a task so you can keep track of their progress. In the classroom, I like them to finish at least 3 activities before advancing to the next skill set.
As a heads up, some of these activities will prove to be of more value when completed together as a whole class, and therefore you may want to select those activities and use them as class competitions or whole class learning experiences.
