This package is a book companion for the story Blue-Ribbon Dad by Beth Raisner Glass and Margie Moore. It is a sweet, rhyming story of a little squirrel recounting all the things he does with his dad, while making a blue ribbon present for when dad arrives home. An element of counting is added as the son counts down the hours until dad will arrive.
The activities represent different levels of ability from K-2, so you may choose what is suitable for your students.
I have created the extension activities keeping in mind that some children do not have a father present in their lives or in the home. A space is provided where the students can write “dad” or name of another person.
