    Body Systems Test

    Description

Use the Body System Battles curriculum to teach the fascinating machinery of life with engaging, time-effective, and interactive methods. This game-based tool will not only give your students a head start learning human body systems and anatomy but also enrich them on a personal level. After all, the awareness of how the body functions, or the lack thereof, impacts a person's life and health on many levels.

The bundle includes everything you need for the battle's placement activity (Gear Up) and various game options (Engage). The placement activity combines whole-brain learning and powerful mnemonic techniques to easily teach basic anatomy and physiology. The games cement concepts and facts for future recall.

This versatile game system accommodates a teacher's budget, both time and money-wise, classrooms of any size, as well as various grade levels. Complete the activity and game in one to two hours for a basic overview. Then continue to use it as a supplement throughout the year. Regardless of how you use the system, it will enable your students to lay a foundation (a comprehensive mind map of the human body) for future studies and foster an appreciation for the complexity of life.

The Body System Battles game is also part of the award-winning, educational board game called Complexity. More information at TechnoNature.com/complexity.

    NGSSHS-LS1-2
Develop and use a model to illustrate the hierarchical organization of interacting systems that provide specific functions within multicellular organisms. Emphasis is on functions at the organism system level such as nutrient uptake, water delivery, and organism movement in response to neural stimuli. An example of an interacting system could be an artery depending on the proper function of elastic tissue and smooth muscle to regulate and deliver the proper amount of blood within the circulatory system. Assessment does not include interactions and functions at the molecular or chemical reaction level.
    NGSSMS-LS1-3
Use argument supported by evidence for how the body is a system of interacting subsystems composed of groups of cells. Emphasis is on the conceptual understanding that cells form tissues and tissues form organs specialized for particular body functions. Examples could include the interaction of subsystems within a system and the normal functioning of those systems. Assessment does not include the mechanism of one body system independent of others. Assessment is limited to the circulatory, excretory, digestive, respiratory, muscular, and nervous systems.
