This Health/Science activity was designed to be an small-group learning project. After having an overview of the body's main systems (digestive, respiratory, circulatory, muscular, skeletal, and nervous), each student selected 3 systems they would like to learn more about. I grouped them in small groups according to their first choices. The activity has three main tasks, and the groups were expected to work together and share the workload. Ample class time was given, but time at home researching was allowed. We spent about 1-1 1/2 weeks on this project. It would be appropriate for 4th-5th graders, but could certainly be enhanced for 6th or higher.
