Do you teach a unit on the human body or health? This body systems resource includes reading sheets that incorporate language skills, an interactive flip-book with three writing prompts for each body system, and a Taboo review game of 72 vocabulary terms. This cross-curricular activity is a wonderful way to teach science concepts while reviewing reading and writing skills!

Language skills practiced include: identifying the main idea of a reading passage, topic, supporting, and concluding sentences, vocabulary practice (synonyms), parts of speech (verbs & subjects), fact vs opinion, reading comprehension, and writing exercises.

Body systems included are: skeletal, circulatory, nervous, digestive, excretory, respiratory, muscular, reproductive, and lymphatic/immune. You can leave out any of the body systems from the flip-book or reading passages if you wish.

The Taboo game includes 72 vocabulary terms that students will try to describe without saying other related words listed on the card. This game can be played as a review with the whole class or can be used as a science center! Instructions and rules are included.
