This file contains a cut and paste activity for upper elementary and early middle school students learning about the atomic structure. You can use cheerios or fruit loops to make this a 3d model and glue the subatomic circles onto the cereal, or you can glue them straight onto the atom itself! I have always had my students draw a positive "plus" sign in the circles for the protons and a negative "minus" sign in the electrons before they color in their subatomic particles. The square at the top of the page is left blank for the students to fill out their key - what colors the subatomic particles are and/or how many there are for their atom. Enjoy!!
