Here’s a way you can help your students understand some key events that led to the Civil War without having to resort to lecture, lecture, lecture. This Google Drive version of the Boiling Points to the Civil War Flipbook would be a great addition to an interactive notebook or as a stand alone research project.
Here's What's Included:
-Links to two different versions (1 event per page or 2 events per page) with the following events:
-Boiling Points to the Civil War Cover to be Designed
-Compromise of 1850
-Fugitive Slave Act
-Uncle Tom's Cabin is Published
-Kansas-Nebraska Act Repeals the Missouri Compromise
-Caning of Charles Sumner
-Dred Scott Case
-John Brown's Raid on Harper's Ferry
-The Election of 1860
Everything gets printed on 8.5" x 11" paper and students will then cut out their flipbook pages and then staple the pages together. I also have this resource available in a paper format if you'd rather have your students write the information by hand.
