Book Author Letter Writing Activity (freebie)

This is a fun book author activity that reinforces the proper letter format, gets students motivated to read new books, and has real world impact. I use this activity all year round with my early finishers, but it also makes a great back to school summer reading activity, reading centers option, or independent reading activity that students can complete at at school or at home.

Using the handout, students search online for author contact information. Students prepare a letter using business format and mail the letter to the book author.
