Want to help your students learn how to take care of their library books? Here's a colorful, memorable way to teach that lesson!
Included in this download are:
*printable letters and graphic to create a display poster
*the Book Baby song on illustrated pages to flip as your class sings (black and white & color versions)
*the Book Baby game, asking your students questions about how to treat their Book Baby, allowing them to answer "YES" or "NO" as a group
*Book Baby printable bookmarks to send home with library books (black and white & color versions)
*Book Baby printable activities, so students can draw a picture of how they treat a book like a baby
I use these in my elementary school library to help my students learn to be gentle with the library books they check out. I like to be positive and encouraging as I teach this library skill.
I use this song and game as a review throughout the school year, too. Once you have them printed, you can easily remind students later on if they forget how to take care of their books.
