Organizing my teacher mentor texts has been a struggle for me--I can never find the book I'm looking for the day that I need it! I created these book bin labels to help me keep track of my mentor texts.
For clarification, these are meant for teacher use to organize the read aloud books you'll be using in your lessons.
I've included the following labels:
-Reading Mentor Texts (2 versions)
-Guided Reading Sets
-Writing Mentor Texts
-Narrative Mentor Texts
-Small Moment Mentor Texts
-How To Mentor Texts
-Information Mentor Texts
-Opinion Mentor Texts
-Persuasive Mentor Texts
-Math Mentor Texts
-Read Aloud Chapter Books
-Back to School
-Social Skills Mentor Texts
-Science Mentor Texts
-Shared Reading Texts
-Alphabet & Phonics Texts
Each label measures 3.75" wide by 3.71" tall.
I printed mine on cardstock and laminated them, then used masking tape to stick them on the front of my plastic magazine bins. Please see the thumbnails to see how I used them in my closet. I used multiples of some of the labels to mark my general reading comprehension mentor texts. I use the Lucy Calkins Units of Study for my writing, so the labels are worded to match.
This product also include corresponding book labels. I print my labels on Avery Address Labels (#6240) and trim them for my books. The address labels I use are 1" x 2 5/8". For best printing with the labels, please select "Actual Size" instead of "Fit".
Please ask any questions before buying. I'm happy to help! If you need something reworded or added, please let me know!
