Whether you are a librarian or a teacher, you most certainly have books that you let your students borrow. This product will help you to teach and review book care with your kids in a fun and engaging way. Completed entirely in a pirate theme, there is a lesson plan outline, a Powerpoint presentation, and a mini-book project.

Powerpoint Presentation

The presentation will guide you step-by-step through a book care activity that will keep your little scallywags from falling asleep. The students will be presented with ten different scenarios of students caring for, or not caring for, their books. If it is a positive behavior, students will yell out "Aye". If it is a negative behavior, students will yell out "Avast."

Mini Book Project

This black and white printable will relay similar scenarios as shown in the PPT presentation. Students will need to determine whether the behavior is trash or treasure. Students will color in either a trash can or a treasure chest to show their response.
