This booklet has many concepts of reading when students are reading a novel. From providing text evidence, to finding colors for a chapter, to writing summaries for every chapter.
I go through a booklet with my students together with a novel that I read to them at the beginning of the year. Then I divide groups so that each group has a different novel and model one or two pages a week for the students to complete within their clubs. I take a daily grade for each page. (Easy check while they read, and they are very self managed because they have work to be done in the booklet!) We do book clubs twice a week and they finish the book in about 6 weeks.
This booklet is over The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. The booklet can be altered so that it fits any novel, just edit the summary pages.
Print front and back and it will fold perfectly into a book!
I didn't include a cover because I like to make the covers in a color paper that I print seperately
