Students fill out this booklet as a novel study. It includes skills such as summarizing, inferencing, providing text evidence, text connections, and more!
I model the booklet at the beginning of the year with a read aloud. Then throughout the rest of the year I split the students into reading groups to go through different novels. Our distrcit does a 6 week grading period, and that's normally enough time for the students to complete their book and booklet just in time!
Students read how they want to, meaning they read aloud to each other or read to themselves and then talk about how the chapter should be summarized. My students have a lot of fun leading themselves! I have a lot of fun just
