Book clubs, novel studies, literature circles, whatever you call them in your classroom, giving student the opportunity to read a novel of their choice and get involved in literary analysis is extremely powerful. Incorporate student choice by giving kids the option to choose which book they want to read in small groups.
This resource can be used with any fiction novel (and narrative non-fiction, such as Hidden Figures) and includes roles for student book clubs to help keep everyone on task, literary analysis journals, and comprehension task cards. It also includes postcard templates and a character journal for students to write from the character's point of view.
Please see the Table of Contents in the preview for a complete list of what is included.
