Practice vocabulary skills through literacy with this fun, hands-on material!! This product includes 5 smash mats, each with 20 items. The items on each smash mat are in different locations so that wandering eyes aren’t a problem! All of the items on the smash mat are found in the book, “Let It Snow” by Maryann Cocca-Leffler!
To prepare: Print enough smash mats for your group. Laminate the smash mats for durability if desired. Roll 20 balls of playdoh to get ready for the activity. (You could also use bingo chips if you don’t have playdoh.)
To use: Read the book, “Let It Snow” by Maryann Cocca-Leffler. As you read the book, have students point out items that they see in the book. Then, they can put a playdoh ball on the item on the mat and smash it. Students can also make a sentence with the word to work on grammar and/or syntax skills as well.
“Let It Snow” by Maryann Cocca-Leffler is sold separately and is not included in this product. This product is not intended to replace the book, but to be used as a supplemental activity.
