Let your students' creativity shine with this book cover project and worksheet that asks students to design their own book jacket based on the work of literature. This is a perfect activity for book reports or even an end of the year or term review.
Once students have created their book covers, they write a process essay/response explaining their cover and how it compares to the original.
Assignment handout and worksheet are included, along with pictures of student samples. I collaborated with my school's art teacher and allowed my students to paint their covers, which will now be on display in my classroom. You can also do this project with minimal supplies - plain copy paper and markers, crayons, or colored pencils.
Both PDF and Word files are included in the bundle, so you can customize for your students.
