Book Discussion Cards:
These discussion cards can be used as anchor charts or you can cut up the double ones, punch a hole on the upper left hand corner and put a ring on it for students to use as a reminder of what you notice they need to focus on after reading a book, having a group talk about a theme or problem. Teachers select the focus point or depending on the age or level, students can select what they think they need help with or what they should focus on.
They are extremely helpful for ELL learners because they can use them as prompts when they are stuck on words. Having the prompt there for them as well as the visual helps guide them to speak. My kindergarten students enjoy using them independently after reading a book with a partner. I hope it can help your students too.
