This 2 page 12 question survey gives students the chance to work on the common core goals of speaking and listening in a partner setting. Students are asked to get to know more about each other as well as themselves when it comes to their interests in reading and time allowed for reading. Questions touch on:
* what types of books students like to read
* how students go about selecting books to read
* how much time students spend with technology vs. reading
.......and much more.
This is a great beginning of the year kickoff, but could also be used at any time during the year to help students refocus their time and appreciation for books. Another way to use it is to allow the students to complete the survey up to 3 times a year or once at the beginning and the end. This way you or the students can be looking for changes to their answers over time.
