I love to watch students read.
Sometimes, however, my students are not completely motivated by the promise of an Accelerated Reader grade, so they pretend to read, page by page.
I made this book journaling packet to encourage readers to become involved with the book. They have to interact with characters and practice standards as they read, or else they cannot fill out this journal. It forces them to read, or it raises the stakes with another grade attached to reading.
