I created these classroom library labels for my Kindergarten classroom and then updated them for my 2nd grade and then 3rd grade classroom!
I have four different sections: Leveled Fiction, Nonfiction books, Favorite Series (picture and chapter books), Seasonal and Favorite Authors!
I have leveled my books according to the DRA and Reading A-Z because I used these frequently. To look up a book’s DRA level I use “scholastic book wizard.” I place a colored dot (from Office Max/ Staples) on the books which match the basket label… I try to level the Nonfiction books and Favorite Series books according to the “most common” level. For example, most of the Geronimo Stilton books are a DRA 38, but some are lower and some higher.
*includes bin/basket labels (can edit them)
*includes leveling correlation chart
*includes reading level growth chart
I created these on PowerPoint so that you can edit them to your liking! You may want to keep the DRA level and the Reading A-Z level or remove all the levels. Up to you!
I made the labels small enough to fit into clear plastic ID pockets which I attached to dollar tree book bins with binder rings so I can interchange them. I have also added velcro to plastic magazine bins and attached the ID pockets with velco. You can also simply print them and laminate them!
I do not take credit for any of the art work.
