These book projects are a great way to give students ownership by allowing students a choice of assessment. They are designed to show comprehension of any book while allowing the students' creative sides to shine. These can be used as an assessment for an independent book assignment or for a book read in a group. The choices have different levels of difficulty and skills presented, from retelling the important events in sequence (Timeline) to analyzing the effect of the narrator's point of view on the structure of the story (Fractured Chapter).
There are 9 choices of projects for the students to complete, as well as a 20 point rubric that can be applied to any of the projects listed.
