Description

This resource for grades 4-6 provides a framework for a year of independent reading. It includes the following:

  • Year Schedule
  • Pacing Planner for Students
  • 11 Book Projects with Rubrics
  • Book Report Directions with Sample, Rubric, Proofreading Marks Chart, Peer Editing Instructions, a POV Handout and a Story Elements Handout
  • Reading Letter to Teacher with Sample, Rubric & Peer Editing Instructions

The purpose of this resource is to provide a framework to get students reading and retelling - basic reading comprehension - while also providing opportunities for students to reflect and write about their reading.

Along with PDF copies, you will also be given access to links that will allow you to open the handouts in Google Slides. You can edit these as you like and share the files with your students. The slides can be printed and adapted for students who prefer to answer the questions by hand. You can also view and print a student’s completed version of the slides.
