One of my book puzzle activity series. Great for incorporating "multiple intelligences" and differentiating in the classroom.
Try this 25 question puzzle to practice and review the novel The Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963.
Questions cover themes, characters, main events, and symbols in the book.
The contents of this puzzle include:
• Question Puzzle-easier level
• Question Puzzle-harder level
• Puzzle-blank (so you can make your own)
The two levels of puzzle are provided so that you can provide your class with the best puzzle for their ability OR so that you can differentiate among your students and provide both puzzles for the assignment.
Print out the puzzles on harder paper (like cardstock) and then laminate them if you want them to be extra sturdy.
1) Cut them out and place them in bags or envelopes, or
2) Have the students cut them out and mix up before completing
You can have them complete the puzzle multiple times over the course of the novel and beat their scores. It can be a race among the class or practice for a quiz/test. You can make this an activity for a literacy center or reading comprehension station. Whatever you choose it is a great way to get the kids moving, have them interact with their learning, and utilize trial and error. This activity is a great activity for the kinesthetic learner.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
The file is in PowerPoint format so you can change it up to fit your needs.
