This PDF comes with a series of 4 different bookmarks designed to have students keep track of their reading through a set of 4 different activities. The first bookmark asks students to visualize what they have read during two different times of their reading, the second asks students to list new vocabulary words and define what they mean either by context or dictionary, the third asks students to make connections and prediction and inferences while they read and the fourth uses the QAR strategy to have students log a set of four questions as they read.
There are two copies of the connections/inferences/predictions bookmarks and four copies of the QAR bookmarks. The QAR bookmarks are designed to be printed back to back. That is, one side of the bookmark is the QAR explanation and the other side is for the students to fill out.
In my classroom, I printed out several of each and had students complete two different bookmarks for each chapter book. On an large index card, students would glue the finished bookmarks on the blank side of the index card and write a summary of the book (with recommendation) on the lined side of the index card.
