This book report template requires the student to identify specific elements of the story (fiction/nonfiction, summary, main idea etc.) and to expound with their own personal responses after completing their book. It also allows a bit of creativity (drawing a picture of the main character)!
I used this in my classroom for the early finishers. I had the students fill out a book report, and then I would double check them for grammatical and mechanical errors (I am very stringent in my classroom about those). When they completed their book report they could go to the library and exchange their book for a new one.
