As a HS ELAR Inclusion/Resource teachers, I wanted my students to mirror the assignments of the general education classrooms as closely as possible. My 9th graders were required to read a book and report in written and oral form at the end of each 9 weeks grading period. I found this to be too long of a time frame for my students. The attached tracking form is a daily reminder sheet (written in easy to follow format for my students with the highest educational need). Students read their book in class each Friday for a designated amount of time, then fill in the notes (with assistance as needed) to keep in a binder. During the last week, we take time to assemble all of our notes and write/plan our presentations to give in class.
