Use this poster as a visual to help students retell a story without giving away the ending. After students give a small taste of the story, students will give their opinion of the book.
The first icon (the smiley face) represents the characters. Students can look at examples of characters (people and animals) to remind them of what characters are. Other elements on the book review poster include the setting, the beginning, like/did not like the book, and like/did not like the book because. Each element is accompanied by pictures to give the students example. Great to use during the RTI process as an intervention to help students retell stories.
In addition to the poster, you will receive a black and white graphic organizer. Students can use this as a recording sheet for their opinion or as a prewriting sheet.
