This book study packet correlates to the early reader (I Can Read level 3) George the Drummer Boy
by Nathaniel Benchley, with pictures by Don Bolognese (HarperCollins, 1977). The book is about a British drummer boy for the British army in Boston who is present at the battles of Lexington/Concord (the "Shot Heard Round the World") during the American Revolution. A copy of the book is NOT provided.
* Comprehension. The 14 comprehension questions appear three times, once with primary-grade lines and sentence frames for students to answer using their own words, once with primary-grade lines and NO sentences frames, and once with multiple choice answers. (6 pages total)

I created this comprehension packet for my homeschool son. For some of the longer writing, we did narration and I wrote for him. He enjoyed this book very much! I hope you can use it in whatever educational setting you work in.
