I created this book study to be student-directed. It includes before, during, and after reading questions and activities.
I used it during my assessment week when I wasn't able to meet with my reading groups because I was busy assessing students. The on- or above-grade level students completed the study in their groups without adult assistance. The below-level groups completed the study with the aide that comes in my room during my reading block.
Skills practiced: making predictions, characters, setting, problem and solution, drawing conclusions and making inferences.
The last page is a book poster wrap-up activity.
