Book Talks are a great way to check reading comprehension and to provide students with a chance to give an oral presentation! I use this program with my first graders, but second graders would benefit as well.
A lesson plan is included describing the book talk program.
A poster describing "how to give a book talk" can be printed for each student and posted in the classroom.
Finally, 4 versions of a printable certificate/evaluation form can be used for feedback and to celebrate a completed book talk. Just glue a photo of the student holding the book to form and fill out the evaluation.
3 color versions and 1 black/white version of the certificate/evaluation are included.
UPDATE MARCH 2015! All the materials listed above are still included in this file. In addition, I've added a parent letter and 2 new certificates/scoring forms (with 3 version of each… 1 with a photo area, 1 with a boy clipart image, 1 with a girl clipart image). The new forms can be seen in the thumbnails.
