Product Description
This is a 25-point, end-of-book test, plus answer key, for the 2018 Newbery Award Winner, Hello, Universe by Erin Entrada Kelly. It consists of ten multiple choice questions and six constructed response questions.

Note: I also created a novel study to go with this book which you can view and purchase using the link below. This book test is included as a part of that novel study, so no need to purchase the test separately if you plan to purchase the novel study. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Hello-Universe-by-Erin-Entrada-Kelly-A-Novel-Study-created-by-Jean-Martin-3740699

Hello, Universe…In a Nutshell
This book offers something for everyone…but especially for those wanting to let loose their inner hero and see where fate will take them! The main characters in Erin Entrada Kelly’s book are four typical and compelling middle school students. Virgil is a kind, shy boy who didn’t get the sports-gene that everyone else in his family has. He’d love to have the courage to talk to the cute, smart and sensitive girl he sees several times a week. That cute girl, Valencia, happens to be deaf and she is beginning to think that maintaining friendships is just too much work what with missing half of the conversation. Then there is a wanna-be psychic, Kaori, who is just the person to talk to (along with her little sister and sidekick, Gen) and lead a quest to finding one’s destiny. And, of course, what middle school story can be complete without a bully like Chet?! Luckily, there is also a wise grandmother, Lola, who provides pearls of wisdom from her Filipino youth as well as love and understanding.

Being the 2018 Newbery Award Winner, you can be sure this book will give your students the best that today’s literature has to offer: excellent writing, excitement, tenderness, and a story that middle age students will relate to.
