Book or Story Response Task Cards
My book or story response task cards can be used with any book or story. Teachers love them because they can be used year to year with a wide range of readers!
The activities were designed for multi-levels to promote critical and analytical thinking. Use them with small, large groups, with guided reading groups, literature circles and at literacy centers. They can also be used as prompts for response journals or as discussion starters.
There are 120 activities on 22 cards. The activities are aligned with the Common Core. Not all Common Core Standards are listed on this page because the activities are aligned with many, many grade levels. The activities are often used as informal assessments and reveal who's mastered skills, concepts and strategies or who needs a refresher mini lesson.
Examples of the activities are: writing letters, adding new characters to stories, changing the setting, determining the author's purpose, response to text, voicing opinions, inferences, author's purpose, point of view, protagonist, antagonist, imagery, tone, mood and MUCH more!
Specially designed templates are numbered to coincide with card activities. Some activities, encourage students, who are artistically inclined, to demonstrate their talent.
Included is a student check list and numbered lined response sheet paper as well as a cover template. This is a great year round e-book project that can be sent home, at the end of the year.
The activities are easily modified and complete teaching suggestions are included.
Read the comments written by teachers who have purchased this packet! This is one of my MOST popular resources and has been for many years! These activities are easily modified to accommodate a wide range of readers.
