This book-talk handout for ELA students details what should be included in a book-talk.
The students who use this handout will understand exactly what they need to convey in their book-talks regarding "Information about the author," "Summary," Connections," "Recommendation to my classmates," and of course title of book, etc.
The "Connections" section is an excellent way to reinforce the text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections that the students have made or can make when they read.
Additionally, book talks are a great way to inspire students to read more, since a good balk talk certainly sells students on a book.
A book-talk feedback sheet is also recommended. (Separate file.)
