This unique set of bookmarks give students a chance to practice many skills while they are reading literature. They work well for all types of fiction and will be useful no matter what your class is reading. 17 different skills include: making connections with characters, questioning the character or author, illustrating an event that takes place, practicing the 5 parts of a letter, having a dialogue with a character, summarizing, timelines (chronological order of events), character trait webs, reacting to the story, setting, metaphors and similes, making predictions, fact and opinion, cause and effect, point of view, mood and theme. Each page conveniently may be cut into thirds, using less paper and making the "bookmark" just the right size! These may be used as classwork or homework. A checklist is included so that you or your students may keep track of which bookmarks are completed.
