These bookmarks are a colourful and fun way to remind readers to use several strategies of good readers as they read; monitoring comprehension, making connections, having opinions, questioning, visualizing, clarifying and expanding vocabulary. I have found these particularly useful for book clubs/reading circles, where students are required to record comments about their thinking as they read. Particularly for those who are new to book clubs, it is a good visual reminder of the types of responses to be aware of, as they read. The coloured options can be laminated to lengthen their life. I've also included black and white, as I've previously photocopied them onto cardstock so students can record their thoughts on the back and begin with a new bookmark each week. I hope you find them as useful as I have!
