This is the first in a series of song collections I plan to do for Boomwhackers. Each song is arranged so that squares and rectangles are used rather than notation, with each color representing a particular Boomwhacker, and the length of the square or rectangle representing the number of beats. This is intended to be used as an introduction to reading music for younger students. The songs are set up to be read left to right, top to bottom, so that as students get more comfortable with the tracking required to play each song, they will build their note reading skills for standard notation as well. I use this to scaffold students into reading actual notation, as well as to give an easy way to play various songs on Boomwhackers.
