This unit concentrates on the ending ‘or spelling’ (R controlled vowel O). I have included a huge variety of words and activities to practice this concept, as well as a huge variety of activities!

In this unit you will find:

-2 different “Write the Room” activities with student response sheet
-clip cards (pic to word) and response sheet for a center activity
-7 different roll and cover games with coordinating dice
-2 different “Scoot” games and response sheet
-Mixed up sentences containing or words and response sheet
-Roll, Say, Keep game mats with 2 different word cards (one with just words and one with words and pic clue for differentiation/scaffolding) and a response sheet
- word work/word building cards and coordinating mats- children look at the picture, spell the word then check the card to see if they got the spelling correct(self checking). Then, they write a sentence using the word, using a dry erase marker
-51 break apart/puzzle word to picture cards with response sheet
-2 different “I Have Who Has” games
-8 different Reading ‘or’ words tic, tac, toe boards
-“Basketball!” Pocket Chart word to pic matching activity and student response sheet
-clip cards and response sheet for a center activity
-7 different Teeny Tiny Word Find pages-Students use a magnifying glass to find the teeny tiny “or” words hidden in the picture and a student response sheet
-Roll and read sheets and response sheet
-flash cards with “or” words for pre-assessment, assessment, drill and practice, word walls, etc
-“The soccer Game”- Soccer balls with “or” that you put on a “wand” (straw or popsicle stick) and the children use to supply the “or” to the words as they read. This is a great warm up for guided reading. I have also included directions for using it as a 3rd “Write the Room” activity or center. I have also included a student response sheet.
-Round Robin (Kagan Structure) “Give it your best shot!” reading or words group game (And instructions on how to use/do this structure with your class with this game in case you are unfamiliar with it! Game is great for small groups to use at the same time and you can do a quick check for mastery! Or use in a center or small guided reading group. I have included 2 types of cards (with and without pic prompts) for differentiation/scaffolding.
-Word Family Word Sort Pocket chart activity with response sheet for use in small group/centers.
I have also included 50 different worksheets/printables that include: word building, word to pic matching, writing words with “or”, read and draw, spin to win, flip books, mixed up sentences and writing prompts with “or” words.
