Students locate the word cards around the room and write the short vowel word under the correct heading on the recording sheet.
Then, they add a “bossy” or “magic” –e to the word, and write the new long vowel word. Finally. students then read their words to the teacher.
*Cards may be used as a center instead of placing them around the room,
