Do your students struggle with cvce long vowel patterns? This is a fun way for kids to practice this reading skill. I created this packet so that it could be used in multiple ways. Included are 56 cvc words (of varying difficulty), that have a place for the "Magical- Bossy e" to change them into long vowel words. I plan to use a magic wand (with a magnet letter "e" glued to the end as shown in the download preview) for kids to "add' the magical bossy e. Students can work with partners or in small groups to read the created words....if you prefer, you can just use a magnet e or letter e tile instead of the wand. The pages can be used, uncut, as literacy mats...or if cut out, they can be used with a pocket chart. It works either way. Kids love being able to manipulate something, it keeps them involved...and with this station activity, they will be excited to create and read new words! Also included are instructions on how to make the wand and pictures of finished product! Keep in mind that in the pictures, I mistakenly used an upper case 'E'...which was all I could find last minute before taking pictures. Just thought I would mention it so you can be sure to use a lowercase 'e'.
