This lesson focuses on the early events of the Revolutionary War and specifically the Boston Massacre. Students will research the events and people and ultimately defend one of the sides that were involved with the Massacre. The research sites are included and will focus on the perils that the colonists faced at the hands of King George III and his army or regulars in the city of Boston in 1770. The students will take into account the different points of view of the people directly involved with the Massacre and choose a position which they wish to defend. This is a great lesson to get the kids involved with the subject matter and internalize the feelings, emotions and situations that the early colonists and soldiers were facing in Boston in 1770.
