In this no-prep lesson plan your students will look at the Boston Massacre from multiple perspectives to figure out who was responsible for the event. Students will analyze gradually revealed bits of information about the Boston Massacre to gain a more holistic understanding. This lesson is part of “The Reveal” series - it starts with a more traditional, textbook account of the event; additional information from multiple sources is revealed as the lesson progresses.
First, your students will read and analyze the textbook-like account of the Boston Massacre. Then, new information will be revealed with every new slide - students, in pairs, will discuss how each bit of new information changed their understanding of the event. In the assessment portion of this lesson, each student will produce an independent reflection as to how his / her analysis of the Boston Massacre changed throughout the lesson.
