Boston Massacre Primary & Secondary Source Analysis

This resource on the Boston Massacre has students analyzing 4 visual depictions of the event and 2 primary source newspaper accounts for an awesome Common Core-aligned lesson!

Your download includes all 4 pictures of the event, an account from a London paper showing the British perspective and an account from a Boston paper that favors the colonists. Students use a 2-page worksheet to answer questions as they analyze each document then complete a Venn Diagram comparing them. Finally, students create their own cartoon and editorial on what they believe really happened and who caused the Boston Massacre.

This is a very thorough lesson that has your students utilizing their higher-level thinking skills and is great for incorporating Common Core strategies into your lesson!
