Taking inspiration from the botanical artist Margaret Mee, this lesson includes starter, independent learning task and a main activity of drawing/painting a flower (which you'd need to provide) - great cross curricular links with biology and ecology.
The presentation also introduces the work of botanical artist, Margaret Mee who was a pioneer and explorer in Brazil in the last century, along with giving examples of other relevant artists.
Students enjoy learning about this unusual artist & respond well to the focused observation task. Suitable for any gardens / natural forms / flora scheme of work or a one-off observational drawing session.
Tried at tested with students from 12 to 16 years old.
