Phoneme segmentation is a skill essential to reading, but when students learn about the Bossy E rule and start learning various digraphs, they tend to get a little tripped up when sounding out words. These brace maps will give students plenty of practice. Once they've identified the picture, they will write the entire word and then segment it from there. Or, should you and your students prefer, they may segment it first and then go back and write the complete word. Hope your kiddies enjoy!
